SUMMARY:Introduction to Parallel Computing
DESCRIPTION:Description  This webinar will provide an brief introduction to the topic of parallel programming. We will discuss what parallel programming is and how it's used, and introduce the concepts and terminology associated with parallel computing. The basic functionalities of one of the widest used parallel programming tool are presented: the MPI (Message Passing Interface) and OpenMP libraries for distributed architectures. The tutorial will include hands-on examples of how to parallelize several simple problems.    Prerequisites  Familiarity with the C programming language and working experience with the Linux operating system and command line usage are necessary.
