Extreme login-2 node is temporary being taken offline
Dear Extreme Users,
As announced in our message regarding the Extreme OS Upgrade, login-2.extreme.acer.uic.edu is being taken offline at the end of the day to prepare for an upgrade of its operating system to CentOS 7. Users of this node will need to use login-1.extreme.acer.uic.edu instead from this day forward. We will send a message when the node is back online.
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind our Exteme users who are running their analyses on CentOS 6 compute nodes to use the batch7 job queue to prepare their workflows for running in the new CentOS 7 environment. So far, we have seen very little activity on this job queue. Instructions for compiling software and submitting jobs to the batch7 queue can be found here (you must be on campus or connected to the UIC VPN to access this page).
