Research Data Storage
There are many data storage services available across UIC. To find the storage most appropriate to your use case, ACER has created the UIC Data Storage Finder tool which allows UIC researchers to browse and compare all storage offerings in one convenient location.
ACER manages three research data services optimized for different purposes. They include Research Data Lake, Research Data Glacier and HPC storage. Research Data Lake provides researchers with an S3-compatible, storage system that is affordable, scalable, durable, and highly-available, while Research Data Glacier provides a low-cost storage solution for data that needs to be archived for several years. HPC storage includes a ~1 Pb high-perfomance Lustre filesystem intended for active data analysis by users of our HPC computational clusters.
